Recovery Adventures

Recovery adventures are travel experiences, guided by me personally, designed and tailored for individuals who want to see the world, have fun and grow in their recovery. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been in recovery for a long time, or just a short time, if you’d like to discover new perspectives, inspirations, and directions in your life - this is definitely for you.

The focus of these adventures is on discovering yourself in ways that you could never see in your hometown. You will be in a supportive and positive environment. You are sure to find new highs and will return home feeling motivated. You’ll be inspired to continue your life in recovery and be set on a path to live your best life.

I have personally designed these recovery adventures for you. They vary in length, from a few days to several weeks. Life-long memories will be created with a like-minded group of individuals traveling the world together, focusing on outdoor fun and genuine cultural immersion. Activities include hiking, kayaking, mountain and volcano climbing, and wildlife watching. You’ll also dive into the destination’s culture by visiting historical landmarks, tourist attractions, and local festivals.

You’ll be partnered with my non-profit organization, Feed Starving People Inc., which will provide opportunities to help locals and do some good. There’s nothing like seeing the expression on someone’s face when you’re able to give someone suffering from severe poverty something they need or want.

Recovery Adventures

We’ll have experiences like this that will help us all achieve greater levels of gratitude and feelings of real purpose.

Recovery adventures are led by experienced guides who are knowledgeable of the area’s culture, safety, history, and natural environment. They have extensive experience in supporting people in recovery and those who have chosen to abstain from alcohol or drugs. They’re experts in helping communicate to others how amazing life is and can be and helping them feel that for themselves.

The groups on these tours will feel a sense of community and belonging. We travel as a family. One who cares, supports, laughs together, and challenges each other to be honest about who we are, what we want out of life, and how to get there…while having a lot of fun!

Recovery Coaching.

Tim’s Recovery Coaching Experience

I have been a recovery coach since 2014. Sober coaches are people who have real-life experience with addiction and recovery themselves and/or have been trained in the field of addiction treatment. The approach to sober coaching can vary depending on the coach's training and the needs of the client, but it is always important that it be done with a non-judgmental and supportive approach. I have been through many of the hurdles that come with life in recovery. I have been on my path of recovery since March 10th, 1998 when I was a sophomore in high school. I feel very passionate about helping others in those vulnerable days of early recovery from whatever they’ve recently bottomed out from. I have supported individuals recovering from all drug addictions, and mental health tragedies like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and more.

I have extensive experience with coaching people of all ages, races and gender, and in various stages of their sobriety. Notably, I personally know what it means to be a young adult and start an amazing and thrilling life in recovery.

My own recovery journey, years of coaching, and my training make me an extremely caring and knowledgeable recovery coach who helps individuals create purpose and meaning in their lives.

Recovery coaching is a type of coaching that supports those who are in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction. The goal is to help maintain sobriety by providing guidance, encouragement, and accountability in order to move forward to a stronger and more independent recovery state.

My recovery coaching incorporates support as a transitional living assistant. I act as a support beam to your professional care directions. I work as a guide for a healthier lifestyle. This is done either one-on-one with the client or in groups.

Services include:

  • Helping clients develop coping strategies for managing triggers and cravings

  • Providing emotional support and motivation

  • Assisting clients in creating a plan for recovery

  • Setting goals and establishing healthy habits

  • Offering guidance on lifestyle changes that support sobriety

  • Teaching and encouraging nutrition, exercise, and stress management skills

  • Counseling on how to navigate difficult situations such as social events where alcohol or drugs may be present

Individuals often end up in situations where they need to get from one place to another safely. I am very experienced with the hurdles and logistics of getting someone from home to rehab or rehab to a life event they must attend but are not yet ready to tackle on their own.

As a world traveler in recovery, I am very qualified to get an individual from anywhere in the world to the place they need to go - from down the street to another state or country. If you or a loved one needs safe travel assistance, please click here.

Live-in Support Worker

Live-in

Support

Worker.

I started my career as a Live-in Support Worker in Los Angeles, California in 2016. I have been trained by some of the best sober companion companies in the world and I am a phenomenal transitional living assistant. Live-in support workers are ideal for individuals coming out of residential drug & alcohol rehabs and mental health facilities. When an individual is returning home after residential living but is not able to get the transitional experience of a halfway house, I bring the structure of a halfway house into their home.

This makes life in early recovery a little easier as I curate a plan of action that suits the individual’s exact needs and helps prevent slips. I will work alongside your care team to support you in succeeding with your aftercare plans. I will provide action plans, ample support, and a partnership through every scenario a person may face.

I will also help catapult my client into a greater life in recovery, sooner rather than later. Each person’s story and case is unique and deserves its own creative thinking to help the individual through those early days. I empower my clients to make the best decisions for themselves. I will always keep this in mind as I work my way out of the individual’s life. The goal is for the person to live and prosper on their own, independently.

Mentoring

Mentoring.

Mentoring normally involves weekly meetups, preferably in person. However, meetups can be on Zoom. I am very passionate about being an inspirational role model for my clients. Being authentic with each other, without the need to be perfect, is a top priority here. I pride myself on meeting a client where they are in life. There’s nothing I love more than creating a safe space for another person - a safe space where they can be vulnerable and honest about their struggles and their want to be better. From here anything is possible. I always use all of my heart and skills to make sure my client moves forward in the direction he/she wants to go.

One of my favorite things to do is what I call therapeutic hiking. I find that therapeutic hiking allows people to let it all out as they watch themselves take steps, one by one, one foot in front of the other. Without fail somehow, perhaps through intuition, we end up taking a trail that is the most inspiring for the client. A client once told me that even though he’d been seeing the best therapist in the world, the mix of my mentoring and the healing power of nature helped him open effortlessly. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of therapy and support a client’s care under a therapist. I just know my unique gifts allow me to be a  more relatable and empathetic mentor who makes clients feel seen, heard, and loved.

Everybody is unique, special, and comes from a different background but the one constant is always a need for love and understanding.

Detox in Comfort

Detox in Comfort.

I have been a live-in support worker on many occasions for individuals going through tough detoxes in the comfort of their own homes or a private facility.

With the guidance of a Ph.D. clinician, and an in-house nurse/doctor prescribing and administering the detox medications, I am able to carry the emotional and mental weight that comes with these difficult experiences with an individual.
